• Can I upload my own content and images?

  The content management system (CMS) will allow you update text content, images and meta information within the design - including embedding You Tube videos onto your pages.

• Can you add extra features to my website?

  You will be able to upgrade from Package 1 to Package 2 easily. Where you require additional functionality or pages that are not included in the packages this will need to be reviewed and a quote provided for the work.

• The designs don’t work for me, can you do a bespoke design for my business?

  Yes – we provide bespoke web design and development services for clients, we generally arrange to meet to produce a detailed quote for your work. This package has been designed as a basic starter package for small businesses that want a good quality online presence.

• What are your charges for additional work?

  Any changes you require will be quoted for and charged for at our hourly rate which is £45 per hour plus VAT.

  But if you are using one of these packages - there should be no extra work required - no extra charges!

• Is there a limit to the number of webpages I can have on my site?

  The small business monthly packages are designed for you to have up to 8 pages of content on them. This is determined by the space required foreach menu title. There is more flexibility in the number of pages if you opt for the vertical menu design.

  

  If more pages are required (sub-pages etc) or a bespoke design we recommend you consider a bespoke business website. Contact the team to discuss your requirements.

• Will my website have a sitemap?

  Yes – this will be linked on the footer.

• Can you set up Google Analytics tracking for me?

  You will need to set up Google Analytics. This is so that you retain control of your website analytics data. Once you have got the Analytics code - you will supply it to us (with the Checklist) and we will apply it to your website.

  Instructions on how to create a Google Analytics code will be provided with your Checklist.

• Will my website work on mobile phones and tablets?

  Yes – our websites are responsive and will resize themselves for mobile phones, tablets and desktops - infact on a range of internet-connected devices and browsers!

• Will my website work across all browsers?

  Yes – we develop our sites to work on a range of modern common browsers.

• Who hosts my website?

  Peter Bourne Communications Limited provides your website hosting. We have our own leased web server based in the UK – which hosts only our clients. The web server is managed and upgraded regularly, the server is also backed up nightly to ensure each site is safe.

• What platform are your websites built on?

  Our websites are developed in industry standard languages: MySQL and MariaDB for the databases, PHP for server coding language and Javascript, CSS and HTML for front-end website pages.

• Are there any hidden maintenance fees?

  No – our websites do not require maintenance updates so no additional fees apply.

• Will I be tied into a contract?

  No – there is no contract term. You pay monthly by Direct Debit and you can cancel at any time. Your cancellation request must be made 3 days before your next payment is due.

• Do you provide images for my website?

  No – you will need to provide licensed images for your site – these can be photographs of you/your business or from a stock image provider. We commonly use iStock or Shutterstock, but there are plenty of options out there - including Pexels for free images.

• How quickly can you build my website?

  Once you have returned your fully completed checklist and provided all the information (content, images, etc)  we will aim to get your site developed in 10-14 days.

• What if I don’t have a logo?

  We can put you in touch with a local designer who can work with you to create a logo and other branding for your business for a reasonable cost. It doesn't need to cost as much as you think - but its always a worthwhile investment.

• Do you sell domains?

  No – we recommend using LCN.com or 123-reg.co.uk for registering your domain name. You can expect to pay around £4.95 per year for.co.uk domain and £9.95 per year for a .com domain (based on LCN.com price).

  Its important that you register the domain name yourself. This ensures that its registered in your business name - in time it will be an important company asset!

• Can I add to my website in the future?

  You can update your website content and images via the Content Management System (CMS). If you want to add more functionality to your website call us to discuss what you need.

• Can I switch plans?

  You can upgrade from package 1 to package 2. If you want to add more functionality then please contact us to discuss what you need.

• Do I need another web host?

  No – our small business starter packages include our fully managed web hosting on our own server.

• Do you offer email accounts?

  No – you can use hosted email services from Microsoft Office 365 or other hosted email services. Alternatively, you could use a free web based mail account or from your ISP.

• If I decide to cancel, can I take the website away with me?

  Your website will be a hosted site; therefore, it will not be transferable to another designer or host. You will of course have time to copy your content from the site so you can provide it to another designer/developer.

• How do I pay?

  Monthly direct debit will be set up through Go Cardless, an invoice will be provided on the agreed payment date.
